Job Description
Job Title: Diagnostic Imaging Specialist
Job Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day - 8x5
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Experience: Preferred one year post-graduate work experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist
License: Must be a graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation accredited program or equivalent
Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in nuclear medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB); American Heart Association BLS
Must-Have: Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered for assignment.
Job Description:
- Perform general nuclear medicine examinations, including therapeutic procedures and PET/CT patient exams in an acute care environment.
- Assist radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
- Perform nuclear medicine quality control measures, patient exams, and procedures as requested by medical staff.
- Complete documentation for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
- Verify written/electronic orders and related health information to ensure timely performance and reporting of nuclear medicine exams and procedures.
- Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of hospital quality indicators outlined in the strategic plan.
- Complete appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt/return, decay, and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with state or federal regulations.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Exercise tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality.
- Successfully perform essential job functions in a busy and stressful environment.
- Learn current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized in the organization.
- Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
Schedule Requirements:
Regular and sustained attendance is required. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work might be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
Holiday coverage is required. Facility reserves the right to cancel three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or other unforeseen circumstances.
