Senior Gameplay Engineer
  • Salary range: DOE up to $170k base + discretionary studio performance based bonus
  • Unlimited PTO
  • hybrid (2-3 days a week in El Segundo, CA- no exceptions)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Gameplay Engineer with MMORPG experience to participate in the development of engaging and innovative gameplay features for our MMORPG title. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in C++, LUA, PYTHON and online game development with strong collaboration skills to work closely with designers and artists to create a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing core game features
  • Collaboration with designers
  • Responds to technical issues in live service situations
  • Optimization of game performance and resolution of bugs
  • Develop, design and implementation of gameplay systems and mechanics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define gameplay features and ensure alignment with game design
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing support in code reviews and best practices
  • Optimize gameplay performance and user experience through innovative solutions
  • Develop and maintain backend systems to support online gameplay
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to gameplay features
  • Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new techniques to enhance gameplay quality

Qualifications
  • BSCS, Game Development, or related
  • 7+ years of experience in game development, with a focus on gameplay engineering
  • expertise in C++ and scripting languages Lua, Python
  • Experience professionally having Shipped new game title(s) or experienced live game service over many years
  • Experience developing online MMORPG
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for creating compelling gameplay experiences
  • Familiarity with user experience principles and game mechanics
  • Experience with code review processes and mentoring team members
