Peak Processing Solutions (Peak) is the main business unit of Althea Group Holdings Limited (AGH or the company) - a company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Peak is a leading cannabis and beverage manufacturing company, driving innovation and product excellence. As the company relocates the headquarters of its operations (other than Australian statutory reporting) to Windsor, Ontario, and expands internationally, it is seeking an experienced and strategic CFO to lead financial operations, improve financial systems and processes, and support long-term growth initiatives, particularly in the U.S. and Canada.

SUMMARY:

The CFO will oversee all financial operations, ensuring strong financial management and reporting, regulatory and policy compliance, and contribute positively to strategic planning. The ideal candidate will be CPA-qualified and bring a proven track record in refining financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and improving the quality and timing of internal and external financial outputs. Manufacturing industry experience is strongly preferred but not essential.

The CFO role requires a hands-on leader with experience optimising financial systems and structures, managing day-to-day financial operations, and developing a high-performing finance team. The CFO will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors and senior leadership team, providing financial and strategic support for growth initiatives, including the company's expansion into the newly opened U.S.

Australian public company and statutory reporting experience are not required and can be outsourced.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Leadership & Strategy:
  • Develop and execute financial strategies to support both short-term operational goals and long-term growth.
  • Improve financial systems, processes, and outputs to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality financial reporting.
  • Oversee financial planning, forecasting, cash flow management and risk management to ensure financial stability.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, Board, and leadership team.
  • Serve as the key financial advisor for business development, including U.S. expansion, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and investment opportunities.

Financial Operations & Compliance:
  • Oversee financial operations in Canada and international markets, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes to safeguard company assets.
  • Manage accounting, tax, and treasury functions, ensuring operational efficiency and the operation of effective internal controls.
  • Oversee audits and tax filings, working with external auditors and tax consultants.

Growth & Operational Efficiency:
  • Lead ERP system optimisation to streamline operations and improve financial data visibility.
  • Align financial planning with business objectives, supporting expansion and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Improve financial KPIs, providing data-driven insights to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and financial structuring to optimise cash flow.

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure the finance team delivers accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
  • Build and adequately resource the finance department as the company expands.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • CPA designation required (or equivalent financial qualification).
  • 10+ years of senior finance leadership experience, ideally in manufacturing.
  • Strong experience improving financial processes and team performance.
  • Expertise in financial systems, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Experience in supporting business growth initiatives.
  • ERP system experience (Epicor preferred but not essential).
  • M&A experience is preferred, but again not essential.
