Achieving our goals requires strong collaboration and partnership between our teams and our internal stakeholders. To best support this, the person who accepts this role is expected to be on site, in office four days per week. To provide our employees with flexibility, we offer a unique benefit where employees at Fanatics' corporate entity can work remotely for up to four weeks per year, which can be taken in daily or weekly increments.
The Role
The Director SOX Compliance & Financial Controls will lead the company's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts, ensuring that financial reporting controls and risk management practices align with regulatory requirements. This role is critical in overseeing the SOX program, assessing internal controls, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial compliance and possess strong leadership, analytical, and strategic planning skills. Employees are expected to be on-site 4 days per week. We also offer the unique benefit of allowing employees to temporarily work remotely up to 20 days per year based on business levels.

What You'll Do:
Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage the company's SOX compliance program, ensuring adherence to COSO frameworks and regulatory standards
- Conduct risk assessments to identify key control gaps and areas of improvement
- Oversee the design and implementation of internal controls over financial reporting
- Manage a team of four staff to complete SOX documentation and testing for the various business processes
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate SOX testing to facilitate an efficient audit of internal controls
- Develop and implement remediation plans to address deficiencies identified in internal controls
- Monitor changes in regulations, accounting standards, and industry best practices to ensure compliance
- Identify opportunities to streamline compliance processes using automation and technology (e.g., GRC tools, data analytics)
- Enhance reporting and dashboard metrics for SOX compliance monitoring
- Drive training programs to educate stakeholders on SOX requirements and control best practices
- Partner with Finance, IT, Legal, Operations, and Compliance teams to strengthen financial governance
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or financial controls
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, COSO framework, and PCAOB standards
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is highly desirable
- Experience with SOX technology tools (e.g., Workiva, AuditBoard, SAP, Oracle GRC, or similar platforms)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and stringent deadlines within a fast-paced environment is a must
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
