Summary

The Port Operations Department of Glovis America, Inc. is expected to process over 1,000,000 new finished vehicles imported through our port processing facilities in 2024. The RM, Port Operations West, will be responsible for overseeing and growing our business on the US West Coast, managing both 3rd Party port facilities as well as GLOVIS operations and spearheading the opening of new facilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing operations (labor and resources), implementing technological advancements, and creating investment plans to drive the success of our FVL operations.

Compensation

$142,000- $162,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the overall operations of multiple port facilities on the United States West Coast
    • Monthly wholesale achievement,P&L management and KSOX compliance, KPI management, and Safety management
    • Manage daily processing volume and targeted volume needs according to Logistics Planning with dynamic changes
    • Manage PMs and GMs with communication and oversight to ensure LP needs met on daily basis. Provide guidance to port leaderships on resolving operational obstacles
    • Direct, motivate, and monitor PMs and GMs regarding changes to their production plan, including prioritization of specific models and dealer types, in order to achieve our wholesale goals
    • Provide strategic guidance to port leaders for improving port overall performance
    • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the existing facilities and identify opportunities for new port locations
    • Manage IPC developments and secure staffing
    • Utilize technology and implement innovative solutions to enhance operations, increase efficiencies, and streamline processes
    • Monitor and improve performance metrics related to operational excellence, productivity, safety, and cost management
    • Develop investment plans for facility improvements and expansions, ensuring optimal return on investment and full cost recovery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and efficient discharge, processing, repair, and shipping of vehicles from pre-arrival through delivery
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with port authorities, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and adherence to regulations
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact port operations, ensuring compliance and best practices
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and continuous improvement
  • Manage environmental sustainability projects
    • Recommend organizational process or policy changes
    • Develop organizational goals, objectives, policies, and programs

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • 10-15Years of Direct Experience inPort Operations, Warehousing, Vehicle Logistics Required
  • 13- 18Years of Direct Experience in Operations, Warehousing, Vehicle Logistics, Port Operations, Automotive, Ocean Shipping Preferred
  • 4 - 7 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
  • 7 - 10+ Years of Supervisory Experience Preferred
  • Valid Driver's License Required

Physical Requirements
