We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Finance. This role is pivotal in overseeing the agency's financial health, strategic financial planning, and operational finance functions for PHD. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Compensation Range
$90,000-$190,000 USD
This role is hybrid, requiring three (3) days per week in the office. The remaining two (2) days may be worked remotely. Specific in-office days will be discussed during the interview process, with flexibility to align with team needs. Please note that the number or required in-office days may be adjusted over time, potentially increasing the number of required in-office days based on business needs.

Overview

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA and/or MBA equivalent a plus)
- Experience in Media or Advertising is a plus but not required
- experience in FP&A, corporate or client finance, or related field
- 3 or more years of audit or equivalent experience ensuring the accuracy of financial data (Big 4/National accounting firm experience a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented, good organizational skills and persistent
- Team player who can function well in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects and work within strict deadlines
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel
- Reporting functions will require ability to quickly understand Cognos, TM1 and AX Financial systems
- Ability to organize and work with large amounts of information and manage multiple project priorities
- Extremely well-organized with strong people skills and ability to evaluate and communicate with Clients and Agency leaders
Responsibilities
Client Finance
- Financial & commercial partner to Client Business Leads (Account Directors) tasked with maintaining fluid knowledge of client's business models, contractual arrangements, key strengths and opportunities. Continually advise business partners and Finance Leadership on issues within client portfolio that impact the business
- Strategize and contribute to revenue growth efforts, staffing efficiencies and client matters with Executive Management, Managing Directors, Group Account Directors and other Senior Management
- Interact with client Marketing and Procurement teams as needed (e.g. client contract negotiations)
- Bring financial acumen for new service lines, clients or segments, including but not limited to go-to-market, pricing scenarios, forecasts, and launch readiness from Finance; e.g., coordinating with Billing/Revenue and Accounting
- Oversee excellence in client-initiated and internal auditing and related requests
- Support RFP requests including but not limited to financial models, pricing, bid strategy, total value analysis, and presenting financials to the RFP review team (CEO, CFO, SVPs)
Strategic Planning & Analysis
- Coordinate the annual budget and monthly forecast process alongside FP&A team, including coordination of the planning cycle with functional teams and business units
- Define and analyze key areas of the business, including client profitability and staff utilization
- Liaison with sister agencies OMD, Hearts & Science, Optimum Sports, Annalect and other Creative agencies BBDO and DDB.
- Conduct client contract review, ensuring disclosure & documentation compliance
- Assist in preparation of agency's annual plan presentation materials
Financial Reporting & General Contributions
- Manage the month-end close process, including review, journal entry submission and reporting package preparation. Hands on review of revenue, monthly close and monthly reforecasts with variance analysis
- Maintain accountability for proper forecasting, accounting, and recording of client billings and revenue consistent with company policies and GAAP
- Provide monthly analysis and reporting on Accrued and Deferred Revenue to Controller's Group
- Provide ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
- Develop and mentor staffing
Experience and Reporting Structure
- Report to Senior Director of Finance
- Strong interaction with PHD CFO, SVP Finance, US Senior Finance Director, Corp Finance team and the Controller group
