Key Requirements:
10+ years of experience in commissioning power plants or industrial facilities.
5+ years of hands-on experience with LM6000 turbines or other gas turbine technologies.
Proven ability to lead large-scale commissioning projects, managing schedules, budgets, and multi-discipline teams
Job Summary:
PIC Group is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the startup and commissioning of LM6000 turbines for a power generation project in Casa Grande, AZ. This role ensures all systems and components meet operational, safety, and regulatory requirements before handover. The Commissioning Manager will coordinate with EPC contractors, utilities, and internal teams to drive an efficient and safe commissioning process, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure project timelines are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive commissioning plan for the LM6000 turbines and balance-of-plant systems.
Lead and manage the commissioning team, ensuring adherence to project timelines and safety protocols.
Oversee the testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Provide regular progress updates, risk assessments, and technical reports to project leadership.
Ensure all commissioning activities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and project specifications.
Work closely with construction, engineering, and operations teams to coordinate project milestones and issue resolution.
Maintain detailed commissioning records and documentation to ensure a smooth transition to operations teams.
Enforce LOTO procedures, NFPA 70E standards, and OSHA safety requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
Job Requirements:
Proven experience in commissioning high-voltage systems, gas turbines, or power generation facilities.
Prior hands-on experience with LM6000 turbines or other aeroderivative gas turbines.
Proven ability to oversee large-scale commissioning projects, managing schedules, resources, and budgets.
Strong understanding of control systems, instrumentation, and plant operations during startup phases.
Familiarity with industry standards such as NFPA 70E, IEC, IEEE, and OSHA regulations.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate with EPC teams, utilities, and project stakeholders.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk, stand, crawl, stoop, sit, and climb ladders and stairs in an industrial environment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed.
Frequent use of protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, and ear protection.
Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
