Serve as the computational lead collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze, visualize, and manage biomarker data while ensuring FAIR data principles. Perform statistical analyses, develop interactive dashboards, apply best practices in data management, and effectively communicate results to support research and publications.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates as the computational lead with Pathway Biology, Biomarker Scientists, Preclinical Translational Scientists, and Denali's metabolomics core to explore, summarize, analyze and visualize biomarker data.
  • Manages and organizes data from internal & published studies (e.g. metabolomics, lipidomics, proteomics and other endpoints) to make them findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR).
  • Performs standardized secondary analyses across datasets, e.g. univariable and multivariable statistical analyses such as fitting (generalized) linear regression models.
  • Develops interactive dashboards for data exploration.
  • Applies best practices to code- and data-management, including workflow orchestration and version control; highlights opportunities for improvement where appropriate.
  • Effectively communicates analysis results to cross-functional teams, and contributes to Denali publications.


Qualifications/Skills:
  • Master's Degree in Data Science, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, or a related field; and at least 1 year of experience in biotech or a relevant field.
  • Experience in data wrangling, visualization, standardization & analysis, e.g. as evidenced by contributions to one or more publications. Experience using public datasets is a strong plus.
  • Experience with high-dimensional biological data (e.g. genomics, metabolomics, proteomics, etc). Experience with public data of these types is a strong plus.
  • Extensive experience with R, including knowledge of the tidyverse and Bioconductor. Prior experience with querying relational databases is a plus.
  • Knowledge of version control (e.g. Git) and experience building dashboards/visualization tools (e.g. shiny).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Enjoys working in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.


Salary Range: $121,000.00 to $145,000.00 . Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
