Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Hospitality Operations to lead and elevate the guest experience at our full-service resort. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with deep hotel operations expertise, entrepreneurial drive, and strong business acumen. This individual will have a proven ability to implement operational changes effectively, including training and change management, while leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and guest experience.

The ideal candidate will have relevant upscale resort or full service hotel experience with deep proficiency in a large high-volume environment. Expertise in all aspects of the rooms operation is essential, complimented with exposure to food & beverage operations. This role will be expected to work cross functionally with multiple stakeholders across the resort, to deliver desirable outcomes.

The Director of Hospitality Operations will be primarily responsible for leading the daily operations and strategic planning for the Rooms Division, Homeowner Services and Guest Experiences with additional support to be provided to Food & Beverage as required.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of hotel operations including Rooms Division (housekeeping, front office, shuttle), Homeowner Services and Guest Experiences.
  • Provide collaborative support to Food & Beverage and assist in ongoing continuity planning, strategy and positioning of F&B offerings.
  • Lead and support all departments in the achievement of their financial and operational targets via effective organizational development, policy and procedural development, and appropriate colleague training activities
  • Function as a key member of the Resort Executive Committee and leadership team
  • Lead, mentor, and train department managers and staff to uphold resort standards
  • Foster a positive work culture, ensuring employee engagement and retention
  • Support the General Manager in the overall management and strategic direction of the Resort, assuming the responsibilities of the General Manager in their absence
  • Overseeing the health, safety and security of our guests and colleagues, ensuring the health and safety is top priority
  • Assist in the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the Resort's annual Operating Budget, Business Plan and Capital Budget.
  • Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Experiences, are on time, on target and accurate, and all necessary reporting deadlines are met
  • Work closely with sales and marketing and reservations teams to enhance occupancy rates and revenue
  • Develops systems to enable employees to understand guest satisfaction results.
  • Communicates a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desired results.
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in hospitality operations, in progressive leadership capacities.
  • Clear working knowledge of budget planning and execution and interpretation of financial information
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and guest handling skills
  • Ability to motivate developing leaders to act as entrepreneurs while innovating guest oriented solutions creatively and profitably
  • Self-confident, proactive, and able to prioritize and make effective decisions
  • Ability to build strong relationships, interact and influence others at all levels of the company
  • Extensive Resort operations experience required
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications (excel, powerpoint) and related hospitality systems such as Opera Cloud. Experience with Silverware, Lightspeed, ADP would be considered an asset.
