ABOUT THE WORK UNITS

The Office of Domestic Violence and Sex Offender Management Unit (ODVSOM) exists to perform all tasks related to the administration of the Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) and the Domestic Violence Offender Management Board (DVOMB), including serving as the central repository for information concerning all aspects of program administration and compliance and ensuring compliance with the statutory mandates of these programs. Each of the Boards is charged with multiple duties related to setting state-wide standards for the comprehensive evaluation, treatment and continued monitoring of convicted domestic violence and sex offenders. Work is accomplished through the development of public policy in a collaborative environment that is inclusive of criminal justice agencies, mental health professionals, crime victim serving agencies, human services agencies and other professionals and stakeholder groups. The work is based upon research, policy and practice that are evolving in nature.Each of the Boards is charged with a wide range of duties related to the comprehensive evaluation, treatment and continued monitoring of convicted domestic violence and sex offenders. This body of work is based upon national and local research and promising practices that are evolving in nature. Tasks are accomplished by the development of public policy in a collaborative environment that includes criminal justice agencies, mental health treatment professionals, crime victim service agencies, human service agencies and other allied professionals. The unit collects, analyzes, produces and disseminates standards, policies and information concerning domestic violence and sex offense specific treatment and containment. These efforts assist the General Assembly, the Governor's office, and other state and local agencies, in order to enhance the quality of criminal justice efforts to ensure public safety statewide.

The Office of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (OMMIR) was established in 2022 through Senate Bill 22-150 and exists to serve as a liaison on behalf of the indigenous community on issues related to missing or murdered indigenous relatives. To achieve this goal, the unit conducts the following statewide activities: Develops and enhances partnerships with Tribal Law Enforcement and communities; Collaborates with any relevant entities, including the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs, federally recognized tribes, indigenous-led organizations, tribal and local law enforcement agencies, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Colorado State Patrol; Staffing and support of the Community Volunteer Advisory Board; Provides information to families on how to report a missing or murdered loved one; Collaborates with state and local partners to develop training and education. Helps connect families with resources; Reporting out and responding to questions from the legislature and the general public.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will work within a hybrid model of home and office.
ABOUT THE POSITION

The position provides research and evaluation support to the Office of the Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (OMMIR) and the Office of Domestic Violence Offender and Sex Offender Management units to improve the quality and availability of criminal justice services in Colorado and to communicate the role of victims services in Colorado.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Writes reports and is responsible for creating and maintaining data-tracking systems. Creates baseline metrics and information in support of the OMMIR and ODVSOM.

Executes completion of required required periodic reports and enhancing tracking of program data. This position would provide guidance on updates to current data measures to better capture the programmatic data.
Creates visualizations to share data internally and externally.
The position will work with the staff from the OMMIR and ODVSOM to implement proposed changes.
Collaborates with the staff and supervisors to obtain and create data visualizations that are useful, easy to grasp, and can be repurposed for internal and external presentations. This includes creating graphics to be included in legislative reports, dashboards on public facing websites, and other data requests. Assists any other evaluation and/or research related.
Conduct literature reviews on best practices in domestic violence/sex offender treatment and management, as well as on best practices from other states.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six (six) years of professional experience in conducting data analysis, writing comprehensive reports, and data visualization.

OR

Bachelor's degree in any field AND two (2) years of full-time professional in conducting data analysis, writing comprehensive reports, and data visualization.
OR
A Master's degree from an accredited college or institution in any field AND one (1) year of professional in conducting data analysis, writing comprehensive reports, and data visualization.
