Job Description
Job Title: Electrophysiology Technician

Job Specialty: Electrophysiology

Job Duration: 14 weeks

Shift: Day, 4x10-Hour (07:30 - 18:00)

Guaranteed Hours: Not specified

Experience: Minimum of 3 years required, open to first-time travelers

License: State or Compact license required at the time of start

Certifications: ACLS, BLS

Must-Have:
- Experience in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab
- Proficiency in the interpretation of dysrhythmias and Laser Assisted Procedures
- Experience with Permanent Pacemaker Insertion (PPI), Temporary Pacemaker, Watchman, Arrhythmia Induction, Cardiac Ablation, and Cardiac Mapping
- Skills in Scrub Procedures, Circulate Procedures, Conduction Studies, Electrophysiology Evaluation, and Insertion/Programming of AICDs
- Recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and maintain a sterile field
- Accurate monitoring and equipment setup
- Perform EKG lead placement and prep access site
- Experience in working with special equipment like PFA, Cryo, ESI, IVUS, Cardio Lab, and EPIC: CUPID

Job Description:

- Work in an EP Lab setting, performing tasks such as ablations (VT, PVI, CV, A-Flutter, AV Node) and ICD/Pacer Placement and exchanges.
- Involve in Laser Lead Extraction and Lead extraction.
- Perform Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion.
- Handle stocks supplies and room circulator duties.
- Participate in special procedures and unit details including ablations and lead extractions.
- Work is expected during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster scenarios.
- May require floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on skill sets and census needs.
- Uniform scrubs provided.
- Participate in mandatory unit orientation of 30 hours.
- Follow the fatigue policy: Travelers cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours in a week.
- Complete non-billable modules pre-start and annually based on specialty.
