Job Description:
The Senior Director, Head of TLLs, Rare Disease is a key people leadership role within the Rare Disease Commercial team and will lead the Thought Leader Liaison team for Rare Disease. The position will report to the SVP & Franchise Head, Rare Disease Business Unit (RDBU) and will be a critical member of the RDBU leadership team.

The annual base salary range for this position is $217,500 - $319,000

The Senior Director, Head of TLLs, Rare Disease is a key people leadership role within the Rare Disease Commercial team and will lead the Thought Leader Liaison team for Rare Disease. The position will report to the SVP & Franchise Head, Rare Disease Business Unit (RDBU) and will be a critical member of the RDBU leadership team.
Main Responsibilities & Job Expectations
Head of Thought Leader Liaison, RDBU will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Leading the Rare Disease BU TLL organization for the Rare Disease Portfolio, including directly managing 11 TLL's across two products
- Creating a vision for the Customer Engagement organization
- Establishing an effective team and a high-performance culture
- Setting clear business objectives for the organization
- Driving advocacy and engagement plans for our thought leaders
- Leveraging data and analytics to drive results and optimize performance
- Supporting an effective key account management process
- Working effectively cross functionally
- Set a standard of excellence for the BU or Serve as a model of excellence across the Business Unit.
- Supporting the optimization of BU training and development
- Supporting the upskilling of the organization
- Attracting and retaining top talent; effectively managing performance
- Driving a culture of transparency, candor and accountability
- Representing the Customer Engagement organization to senior leadership as needed
Knowledge, Abilities & Experience
- At least 15 years of related experience, with at least 5 years of leading teams
- Extensive pharmaceutical customer engagement experience.
- Significant experience and knowledge of Rare Disease, with at least 5 years of experience, strong preference for hepatology/liver and/or GI
- Demonstrated consistent track record of success and delivering strong results.
- Successful Launch experience and driving advocacy
- Ability to positively connect across multiple stakeholders, including experience of working with senior leaders across the US and in multiple time zones.
- Effective profit and loss (P&L) management experience.
- Excellent analytical, skills and understanding of business analytics tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to interface with both internal and external stakeholders, cross-functional partners, alliance partners, and senior management combined with ability to positively connect across multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness/ability to travel domestically. International travel may be required.
Key Technical Competencies Required
- Demonstrated team leadership & management experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to influence others
- Ability to work with multiple internal cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong scientific/medical aptitude and experience
- Knowledge of the AMA, ACCME, PhRMA and FDA regulations associated with promotion and industry-supported scientific education activities.
- Working within an environment of strict compliance to all appropriate regulatory guidelines to successfully design and execute tactics, programs and tools that achieve business objectives.
