Job Description
The City of Naperville's Electric Utility is currently seeking a skilled Work Management Supervisor to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Work Management Supervisor coordinates the effort of all Electric Utility divisions to achieve optimum efficiency in building and maintaining a reliable and cost-effective infrastructure. This role is responsible for the preparation, scheduling, and execution of all tasks associated with the approved departmental budget. The incumbent is responsible for the alignment of work plans with business performance goals, priorities, and objectives. The Supervisor builds an effective work week schedule to ensure the safe and efficient utilization of resources and is responsible for the development, execution, and monitoring of the Work Management policies, programs, and processes.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $80,623.83 - $103,959.41 per year, commensurate with credentials and experience. The Pay Grade for this position is P07. For additional information, please click here

Duties

  • Responsible for the scheduling, preparation, and execution of all construction tasks, projects, and testing associated with the Electric Utility's approved budget.
  • Ensures effective work week schedules are developed and tracked to support the safe and efficient utilization of resources.
  • Prepares annual schedules for Capital Improvement and Maintenance programs that align with the approved departmental budget and clearly identify resource loading, as well as whether the work is to be completed by internal or contract staff.
  • Interface with other sections of the Electric Utility to develop work schedules ensuring execution of the work plan.
  • Represent Work Management regarding process and procedural issues.
  • Monitor key performance measures, controls, and procedures to ensure the consistent application of the Work Management process across DPU-E and instill accountability for adherence to the process and completion of planned work. Support organizational adherence to schedules, milestones, key performance measures, controls, and procedures.
  • Build long & short-term project schedules and facilitate weekly review meetings.
  • Develops and implements automated methods to collect data from all related DPU-E systems with consistency and accuracy. Develops reports to support effective data analytics, utility system performance evaluation, and continuous improvement.
  • Involved in all new and replacement utility construction projects. Monitors the identification, location, and condition of assets.
  • Provides professional and technical assistance and project updates.
  • Ensures that completed projects meet established program goals and standards defined within the Electric Utility.
  • Operates collaboratively and strategically as a member of the management/supervisory team.
  • Apply a consistent model to drive resource sharing and provide decision making and accountability for improved efficiency. Drives the management of backlogs and blanket work orders.
  • Responsible for identifying material gaps for schedule work.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Five years of related experience helping organizations create efficient workflow structures and/or streamlining multiple business processes so teams may work efficiently.
  • Extensive years of experience in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or Work Management may substitute for the formal degree.
  • A valid State of Illinois Class D driver's license.

Preferred
  • An Electrical Engineering degree.
  • A State of Illinois Registered Professional Engineer license.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
