Description:
Job Summary
Prepares patients for surgery and procedures utilizing the Orthopaedic Institute's patient selection criteria to assess and care for the patient. Recovers patients after the procedure or surgery. Participates in procedural sedation cases. Knowledge and experience in the care of patients who have received sedation, regional anesthesia and/or general anesthesia. Experience with care of patients emerging from all forms of anesthesia and the risks associated. Experience with Aldrete scoring and discharge criteria. Experience in orthopaedic care and ambulatory surgery.

Required Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years experience in area of specialty of PACU with experience in recovering patients, specifically in a free-standing ambulatory surgery setting.
Must have experience with general, regional and local anesthesia recovery of orthopaedic patients.
This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
Must be able to work variable days/shifts including closing shift.

- Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Active American Heart Association ACLS Certification
- Active American Heart Association PALS Certification
