POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Clubs & Memberships will oversee and drive the success of Stratton Mountain Resort's clubs and elevated membership offerings. This dynamic leader will be responsible for membership growth, enhancing member engagement, and delivering exceptional member experiences across various resort areas, including the Golf Course, Stratton Fitness & Training Center, and Stratton Mountain Club. Reporting to the Resort President and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, this individual will collaborate on resort-wide strategic planning initiatives while also engaging with functional teams within Alterra Mountain Company. Compensation for this role will be determined based on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Program Development & Innovation

  • Regularly assess & evolve membership services & benefits, incorporating feedback from members & industry trends
  • Create and introduce innovative products & programming to enhance member experiences to grow the business


Operational Management

  • Direct operations of the Fitness Center, Golf, Homeowner Memberships & Stratton Mountain Club to ensure high standards of service & quality
  • Oversee department heads to ensure alignment of operations with strategic & financial goals
  • Contribute to the overall strategy & goals of Stratton Mountain Resort as a member of the SLT


Membership Development & Retention

  • Develop & execute strategies to attract & retain members
  • Lead the homeowner membership programming to deliver valuable packages & experiences
  • Develop additional elevated access programs, including premium membership offerings & VIP services


Financial Management

  • Develop, manage & monitor the budget for the assigned lines of business
  • Forecast revenue & expenses
  • Monitor membership pricing & make dynamic adjustments
  • Oversee membership renewals processes & wait lists
  • Oversee capital annual capital projects


People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor and manage the Stratton Mountain Club, Fitness Center and Golf teams
  • Provide ongoing professional development to direct reports and future leaders
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for the team, ensuring alignment with overall resort goals and company values

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience


Experience:

  • Minimum of five years in a leadership role within a membership-driven environment, preferably in fitness, golf, or private clubs
  • Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a diverse group
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing & motivating teams
  • Strong financial acumen, with demonstrated experience managing budgets and resources
