The Infection Control Nurse Manager will work in a reputable Medical Center that has been serving the surrounding community for over 80 years. The Infection Prevention Nurse Manager will be part of the most respected and technologically advanced hospital in Southern California with the area's finest physicians on staff.
Utilizing epidemiological methods, the Infection Control Nurse Manager will work under the general direction of the Administrative Director of Quality Management and Infection Prevention and Control Subcommittee. The Nursing Manager of Infection Prevention and Control will coordinate infection surveillance, education, administrative, and control measures to assure that the transmission risks and complications of infections and infectious diseases are minimized to medical center clients, personnel, and visitors.
In this role, the Nurse Manager of Infection Control will be required to function in a wide array of managerial behaviors including statistician, educator, consultant, improvement coordinator, and evaluator of practice. The Infection Prevention Nurse Manager will be conversant with the infection hazards of all patient care services in order to be able to recommend and evaluate the effect of prevention strategies.
The Nurse Manager of Infection Prevention must be fully knowledgeable with all existing and emerging regulations and guidelines specific to the protection of patients and staff from preventable infection events. The Infection Control Nurse Manager will be trained and capable in epidemiological methods to detect infections and infection hazards.
With the emphasis on improvement and publicly reported data the Infection Control Nurse Manager will possess a heightened ability to provide statistical analysis of data, be knowledgeable regarding NHSN data management and evaluate and implement prevention strategies.
