The Senior Analyst is responsible for analyzing, streamlining, and improving accounting and financial processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. This role combines expertise in accounting practices with process improvement methodologies to optimize workflows, reduce errors, and support overall financial operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounting Process Analysis and Mapping
- Analyze current accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end closing and reporting cycles
- Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or areas of risk within accounting workflows
- Develop process maps and documentation to visualize existing accounting processes and potential improvements
- Assist in the development and documentation of key policies, procedures, and processes
- Support internal and external stakeholders to keep systems, processes updated for changing business needs
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
- Work closely with accounting, finance, tax, internal audit, and IT teams to understand current challenges and gather input for process improvements
- Lead or participate in meetings and workshops to ensure alignment and support from all stakeholders
- Automation & Technology Integration
- Identify opportunities for process automation using accounting software and financial systems (e.g., ERP, cloud-based tools)
- Work with IT and finance teams to integrate new technologies or improve the use of existing tools in accounting workflows
- Monitor the success of automation initiatives and address any issues that arise post-implementation
- Project Management
- Responsible for end-to-end program or project management, demonstrating ownership of the entire project lifecycle
- Organize and support kick-off meetings, design workshops and status updates
- Support the completion of project deliverables
- Ensure program/project-related risks are managed and communicated to stakeholders
- Monitor and manage project spend and internal resource hours
- Organize and execute on system testing and training plans
- Track and communicate project results through both quantitative KPIs and qualitative user feedback

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or related field preferred. Graduate degree is a plus.
- 2-4 years' work experience in Consulting, Project Management, or applying process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Seniors Housing industry experience and/or demonstrated business acumen in real estate, financial services, or health care preferred.
- Experience with Yardi, or other Project Management software such as Jira, Smartsheet is a plus.
- Professional certification (CPA, PMP) is a plus.
