OBJECTIVE:

This position will assist teachers and health impaired student(s) in tasks associated with the educational process. Provide medically related intervention for student(s) in a special classroom program and appropriate emergency and routine medical intervention. Collect and record student data and communicate student needs and progress to appropriate staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Hold a valid Oregon License as a Nurse, RN or LPN
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in child health or school health nursing
  • Current CPR and AED Certification
  • Ability to pass a criminal background/fingerprint check ($66)
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with student, staff, and parents

NURSING SERVICES:
  • Formulates and implements health care plans for students, collaborating with families and medical professionals.
  • Conducts student health assessments.
  • Reviews health conditions in classrooms as needed, assesses care needs, and modifies health protocols or education plans. Consults with physicians and parents to obtain necessary information and convey findings.
  • Delegates health-related procedures to staff. Supplies appropriate training and supervision in accordance with state standards.
  • Communicates with parents and staff regarding health needs.
  • Performs direct nursing as needed (e.g., medication, tube feeding, seizure management).
  • Assists in collecting and tracking immunization records and meet state reporting guidelines.
  • Participates in IEP/IFSP processes.
  • Travels to multiple classroom sites. Make home visits as necessary.
  • Provides consultation in educational settings regarding school health needs.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and customers at all organizational levels
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Adhere to policies of the Tillamook School District


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • 1.0 FTE - Temporary Position.
  • Estimated contract dates based on 190-day calendar year:
    2024/25 School Year: As soon as possible - June 11, 2025
    2025/26 School Year: Expected Temporary Contract Extension - Dates to be determined (Aug 2025 - June 2026)
  • 8 hours per day, $40.00 - $50.00 per hour (DOE)
