Description:
The Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering and overall execution of customer orders. Duties include preparation of engineering drawings & documentation as well as coordination of all activities until the equipment is installed and running to the end user's satisfaction. This is a highly visible position both within the Company and to its customers. Strength in mechanical design coupled with proven project management ability and excellent communication skills are hallmarks of the successful Project Engineer. This position reports to an Engineering Manager and may be required to supervise the work of others depending on project size & workload. This is an onsite position.

- Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of experience
- Experience in heavy sheet-metal and structural steel design & fabrication.
- Experience in Machine Design; including mechanical drive design.
- Documented experience with field installations & job site management.
- Documented experience with project management.
- Demonstrated communication, organizational & time management skills.
- Have the capacity to manage and direct the work of others.
- AutoCAD INVENTOR
- Basic knowledge of electrical controls (PLC), pneumatics & hydraulics.
- Working knowledge of Windows & general computer operation.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Project.
- Must be able to work independently, accurately & efficiently.
- Knowledge of metal machining, stamping & die-cast industries a plus.
General Responsibilities:
- Promote excellence throughout the department.
- Primary customer contact and overall project leader.
- Production of detailed engineering and systems layout drawings.
- Responsible for design and detailing of conveyors, custom machinery and systems of equipment.
- Acts as primary customer contact for projects, from initial concept through start-up and de-bug phase.
- "Ownership" and responsibility for projects.
- Travel to customers and provide Engineering, Start-up and Installation support.
- Maintenance of the Company's production schedule by finishing work on time. Also, responsible for the schedules of other Engineers involved in assigned projects.
- Others as required by the Engineering Manager.
- Work closely and communicate with other departments regarding current projects.
- Project Engineers represent the company at the highest level and must conduct themselves in a professional manner.
