- 50% Program Director: Oversee all aspects of the Family Medicine Residency Program, including curriculum development, faculty oversight, and accreditation compliance.
- 30% Resident Preceptor: Provide hands-on guidance, supervision, and mentorship to residents in clinical settings, helping them develop essential skills and clinical knowledge.
- 20% Non-Faculty Primary Care Clinic Provider: Provide direct patient care in our well-established primary care clinic, contributing to community health while maintaining clinical expertise.

Responsibilities
Your New Role
As the Family Medicine Program Director, you'll:
- Lead and Mentor Emerging Family Physicians: Provide leadership and mentorship to residents, ensuring a dynamic, collaborative, and supportive learning environment. Oversee the development of emerging physicians by offering both academic and clinical supervision, helping them grow into competent and compassionate family medicine practitioners.
- Curriculum Oversight & Innovation: Take responsibility for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a robust and innovative curriculum that aligns with ACGME standards and the evolving needs of residents and the healthcare system. Ensure that the curriculum addresses the full spectrum of family medicine, providing a comprehensive educational experience.
- Accreditation & Compliance: Ensure that the Family Medicine Residency Program meets ACGME requirements and institutional policies, maintaining full compliance at all times. Oversee the accreditation process and support the preparation and submission of documentation to ensure ongoing program excellence.
- Resident Recruitment & Retention: Lead the recruitment, selection, and retention of residents, focusing on attracting a diverse, highly skilled cohort. Oversee the residency orientation process, participate in resident assessments, remediation, and career counseling to help residents thrive throughout the program.
- Program Evaluation & Improvement: Collaborate with key stakeholders to evaluate and improve the residency program continuously. Identify areas for innovation and growth, and prioritize program enhancements to ensure a top-tier educational experience. Engage in strategic planning for future program development in alignment with organizational goals.
- Clinical & Educational Leadership: Champion both clinical and academic leadership, providing guidance on scholarly projects, quality improvement initiatives, and research. Mentor residents in their clinical work, ensuring they gain expertise in both patient care and academic pursuits, setting a high standard for future family medicine practitioners.
- Faculty Development & Collaboration: Collaborate with faculty and senior leadership to support faculty development, providing opportunities for professional growth and enhancing their teaching and mentoring abilities. Foster a collaborative, innovative environment for faculty, ensuring continuous improvement in their role as educators.
- Resident Rotation & Scheduling: Work closely with the Program Coordinator, Chief Resident, and other leadership to help coordinate resident rotation schedules. Assist in negotiating with other Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) programs and practice sites to ensure a smooth residency experience.
- Scholarship & Research: Promote and actively engage in scholarly work, including education research, quality improvement initiatives, and demonstration projects. Mentor faculty and residents engaging in academic research, supporting their contributions to advancing family medicine knowledge and practice.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the Designated Institutional Officer (DIO) , Chief Medical Officer (CMO) , Hospital President , Board of Directors , Community Board , and Chief of the Medical Staff to further the goals and directives of the Family Medicine Residency Program.

- Completion of an ACGME accredited Family Medicine residency program
- BC in Family Medicine
- Must possess or have an ability to obtain an unrestricted California medical license prior to employment
- Minimum of 3-5 years in an accredited teaching program with experience in both inpatient and outpatient family medicine practice.
- Previous experience as a Family Medicine Residency Program Director is strongly preferred.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in word processing and communication software.
- Knowledge of clinical practice laws, ethics, and ACGME requirements for graduate medical education.
- Familiarity with ACGME requirements, ABFM standards, and California licensure regulations.
