Requirements

Position Summary:

Bankwell seeks a dynamic and results-oriented, technology forward, Senior Vice President, Head of Operations to lead the continual transformation of our operational functions. This key role will be instrumental in driving operational excellence across the organization, enhancing efficiency, and driving new automations. Strong technology and transformation background a must.

Strategic Leadership: Take charge of the Bank's initiatives to become future ready. Work with our operations and technology teams to drive automations, integrations and modernize the banks various systems and processes.

Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including but not limited to:
  • Branch operations
  • Deposit operations
  • Payment operations
  • Ensure the Bank is operationally ready to take advantage of future technological innovations to meet the commercial, business, and personal banking needs of our clients.
  • Work closely with the Customer Experience team to drive bankers and team empowerment in support of a single-point-of-contact strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Implement and maintain robust controls to mitigate operational risk and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.


Change Management:
  • Lead the successful implementation of new technologies, systems, and processes to modernize operations and enhance customer experience.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative digital banking solutions, including mobile banking, online banking, digital payments, APIs and SFTPs.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of operations professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks across all areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including those related to

anti-money laundering, data security, and consumer protection.
  • Innovation:
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in banking operations and technology.
  • Explore and implement innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer experience.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in project management, product management, or technology leadership roles within the banking or finance industry.
  • A proven track record of successfully leading digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in developing and executing digital transformation strategies.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage technology to improve customer experience, employee experience, operational efficiency, and revenue generation.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of banking regulation and compliance requirements.
