Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Responsible for directing and managing the financial reporting and accounting of all foundation funds for the department. Prepares monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Oversees development, implementation, and monitoring of expenditures and accounts payable process for donor-restricted contributions, and capital projects. Develops and maintains control policies and procedures while coordinating all aspects of annual external audit and tax return (Form 990).
Responsibilities
1. Prepares and reviews monthly and annual consolidated financial statements of all business
units and properly eliminate intercompany transactions annually in compliance with Foundation
policies and US GAAP
2. Develops and prepares reports and metrics to assist Board of Regents (BOR) and University
with required financial reporting including Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and
Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB)
3. Develops and prepares reports and metrics with required financial reporting including FASB and
GASB conversion and component unit models for Foundation financial statement consolidation
for the University and Private Public Venture annual report to BOR
4. Oversees and prepares all GAAP financial reporting including budget to actuals and provides
technical accounting GAAP guidance and support
5. Leads, coaches, and develops assigned Foundation financial team members, answers team
questions, resolves escalations, and escalates issues as needed
6. Ensures complete and accurate recording of all accounting functions within the Foundation
including gifts, gifts in kind, pledges receivable, housing properties, PPV properties, bond
activity, investment activity, outside managed properties, and fund/project detail
7. Reviews account reconciliations, reviews and approves journal entries, and manages month
end and year-end close process
8. Monitors and maintains chart of accounts for periodic updates and improvements
9. Develops and maintains comprehensive, accurate, and well-documented system of internal
controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization
10. Coordinates with department leadership on development of accounting policies and procedures
consistent with GAAP, GASB, and/or FASB as applicable
11. Coordinates annual audit information ensuring accuracy of data and information provided to
external auditors
12. Coordinates annual tax filings with external auditors and provides necessary information for
preparation of 990 and 990-T complying with local, state, and federal government reporting
requirements and tax filings including 1099 and 1096 reporting
13. Ensures accounts payable are paid in timely manner and includes proper documentation and
authorization
14. Monitors and supervises project reporting including monthly reporting to University faculty and
staff, and annual reporting to endowment donors and other organizations
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Accounting, Business or related field
Other Required Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Required Experience
Eight (8) years of experience with at least five (5) years as controller or similar level position

An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Proposed Salary
The minimum of the salary range is $137,140. Offers are based on relevant experience.
