Systems Engineer III
Salary range: $125k - $155K
Seeking a Systems Engineer (Level 3) to support the development and fielding of mission critical embedded space, military and commercial aircraft systems. The ideal candidate will have strong systems engineering background, excellent problem-solving, communication and technical writing skills with a passion for systems engineering. The Systems Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to lead the design, analysis, and management of complex systems development lifecycle.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. System Design, Architecture and Analysis:
Developing and maintaining system architecture, designs, and models.
Leading systems requirements definition, architecture design, ICD development, integration, V&V and qualification of system and hardware/software.
Collaborating with engineering teams (software, hardware, mechanical, etc.) to ensure successful system integration, verification and qualification testing.
Performing requirements analysis, including functional & non-functional, system performance, trade studies and safety assessment.
Performing modeling and simulation to validate system behavior and performance.
2. System Integration, Testing and Analysis:
Developing test plans, procedures, scripts and performing root cause analysis.
Maintaining systems requirements, design, interface ICD, configuration and test documents.
Leading Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), and Critical Design Review (CDR).
Supporting Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM) and Program Management Review (PMR).
Interfacing with stakeholders and customers as systems technical focal on project programs and reporting project/program status, technical risks and issues.
Stay current with the latest industry standards on systems engineering development processes, tools, methodologies, and best practices.
Requirements

Required Experience:
Undergraduate degree in EE, CS (BS/BEng) or equivalent from an ABET accredited school
5-10 years as Systems Engineer, or related field
5+ years leading engineering teams with customer interfacing
Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
On-site position

Desired Experience:
Strong knowledge of system design in aerospace and space industries
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Familiarity with systems engineering tools (e.g., Matlab, Simulink, SysML, DOORS).
Knowledge of relevant industry standards (INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook).
Knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, ARINC 664, AFDX, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS 422, RS 485, UART).
Design assurance, aerospace safety assessment & systems development process (DO-254, DO-178, ARP4761, ARP4754).
Industry standards (MIL-STD-810/DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-217).
NASA, U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), commercial aerospace, or defense programs experience
Project or program management experience including Earned Value Management (EVM)
