Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Specialty: Clinic
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 1 year of medication administration experience
License: State License Required (Massachusetts)
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Must-Have:
- Experience in Opioid Addiction Center (Highly Preferred)
- Skills Checklist
- Two Supervisory Reference Forms
Job Description:
- Administer daily medication to patients in accordance with program policy and medical protocols.
- Utilize automated dispensing systems, calibrate pumps, and maintain dispensing equipment.
- Produce and maintain appropriate records and reports as required by company protocol, Federal and State regulations.
- Ensure compliance with security standards for the distribution and storage of controlled substances as set forth in the Code of Federal regulations.
- Order, receive, and stock medication in accordance with DEA and State regulations. (If granted Power of Attorney)
- Provide daily assessments of patients.
- Assist Nursing Supervisors to orient new nursing staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
A detailed-oriented and empathetic Licensed Vocational Nurse is sought to dispense prescribed medications as part of a treatment team in partnership with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors. The dispensing nurse shares responsibility for maintaining dispensing equipment, managing medication inventory, and reporting patient treatment information. An ideal candidate works cooperatively with supervisory counseling staff and demonstrates a non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward Substance Use Disorder.
