The Opportunity
We are looking for a Tech Lead to drive the technical direction of our engineering team and tackle complex challenges in the insurance, claims, and remittance space. This role requires a deep understanding of building scalable, modern applications while navigating the complexities of an industry with strict regulations, high data integrity requirements, and intricate workflows.
As a Tech Lead, you will work closely with domain experts to design and implement solutions that streamline claims processing, eligibility verification, and remittance systems. Your ability to break down complex problems, modernize legacy systems, and deliver high-quality software will directly impact the efficiency and accuracy of our operations.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment and is passionate about solving difficult problems in a complex industry.

What You Will Do:
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance solutions for insurance, claims, and remittance systems.
- Set the technical direction for the team, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Modernize legacy systems.
- Design and develop service based architectures and distributed systems.
- Work hands-on with .NET Core/.NET Framework, SQL, AWS, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration (CI/CD).
- Monitor system health, proactively address production issues, and minimize technical debt.
- Work directly with insurance domain experts to translate complex business rules into technical solutions.
- Provide mentorship and foster professional growth among engineers.
- Roadmap, estimate, and manage large tracks of work, ensuring deadlines are met.
What You Will Bring:
- 7+ years of experience of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience leading a technical team of 4+ engineers.
- Extensive experience with .NET Core / .NET Framework and SQL Server.
- Proficiency in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and ability to architect and implement its principles.
- Hands-on experience designing and building service-based architectures.
- Experience with batch processing and automated jobs.
- Strong proficiency with AWS services or other cloud-based architectures.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React and/or Angular.
- Experience leading legacy system modernization efforts.
- Background in test automation and implementing automated testing strategies.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures.
- Experience in the insurance or healthcare industry is preferred.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Using Datadog or other app monitoring tools.
