Senior Systems Software Engineer Tier III

Overview

SENIOR SYSTEMS SOFTWARE ENGINEER | TIER III (MIELS):

Bowhead is seeking Senior Systems Software Engineers to support a customer in Stafford, VA. Support for the contract will consist of program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain software applications across various platforms and environments to include on prem and in the cloud.
• Manage software licenses, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and tracking usage.
• Perform regular software updates, patches, and version upgrades to ensure systems are up to date.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software functionality, performance, and compatibility.
• Collaborate with other system engineers to ensure smooth integration of software with other systems and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for software installation, configuration, and usage procedures.
• Implement and enforce security measures for software applications, including user access control and data protection.
• Conduct software audits to ensure compliance with security policies and licensing agreements.
• Test and validate new software versions, updates, and patches in staging environments before production deployment.
• Coordinate with vendors and external partners for support, troubleshooting, and updates.
• Ensure proper software integration with operating systems, databases, and other enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or ten (10+) years or more of practical experience, in software management.
• Ten (10+) years' experience in network environment management.
• DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance or information assurance certifications commensurate with technical objectives and services required.
• Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required, and IT environment specified.
• Cloud certified.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level with Counter Intelligence Polygraph. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
