Business Development & Client Coverage (BDCC) has primary responsibility for retaining clients and growing the firm's revenue. The team lead sales and marketing during the business origination phase, and ensures every existing client receives the best possible service.

Responsibilities:
- Attending client, industry, & networking events, leveraging the existing Validus relationships and your personal network to drive business development efforts for new and existing clients;
- Originating new financial market risk advisory and execution revenue by identifying new opportunities and supporting the pitching processes for prospective and existing clients;
- As a key differentiator, Validus has the very strong sense of common purpose: an integral part of the role is assisting colleagues in revenue generating initiatives by working closely with the Risk Advisory and Fund Finance Advisory teams to contribute product and service expertise;
- Supporting Client Engagement Managers with lead origination, business development and client coverage;
- Ensuring marketing decks are maintained and updated to be used in prospecting
- Leading and delivering high quality internal business reporting;
- Striving for continuous improvement and consistency in service delivery (internal and external);
- Ensuring a high quality of deliverables;
- Contributing ideas for innovation and technology development/adoption to improve risk advisory service delivery and create new products and solutions for our clients;
- Remaining abreast of market development; and
- The role may require some travel.
Requirements
Experience/skills/attributes required:
- Previous experience in the FX / IR market is ideal, but candidates with experience in investment banking, fund finance and alternative investment funds will also be considered;
- Knowledge of Alternative Investment Funds;
- Ability to build relationships with senior decision makers internally and externally;
- Excellent time and project management skills, ability to perform under pressure with tight deadlines;
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with an extremely high attention to detail;
- Strong numerical skills as well as an analytical mindset; and
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
In addition, any of the following would be a plus:
- CFA or CAIA certification; and
- Existing network across private capital managers
Benefits

- Salary $100,000 to $120,000 per annum
