MassCEC is the Independent Third-Party Verifier for more than 144,000 renewable energy systems throughout the Commonwealth. Our efforts align with Massachusetts' ambitious renewable energy goals, offering crucial market insights to support the growth of the expanding clean energy sector. Through the Production Tracking System, MassCEC collects, verifies, and monitors data on clean energy systems production to support several key Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) programs, including:
Position Summary:
The Program Manager, Renewable Energy Production, will lead the customer service team and provide strategic decision-making support to both the technical team and the Program Director. Responsibilities include overseeing online registration applications and managing monthly production reporting across multiple programs. This role will provide procedural guidance for production management across various system technologies-such as solar, wind, hydropower, renewable thermal, energy storage, and demand response-while managing IT vendors and technical consultant relationships, including contracts and invoices.

- RPS Solar Renewable Energy I (SREC I),
- RPS Solar Renewable Energy II (SREC II),
- Alternative Portfolio Standard (APS), and
- Clean Peak Energy Standard (CPS)
Position Summary:
The Program Manager, Renewable Energy Production, will lead the customer service team and provide strategic decision-making support to both the technical team and the Program Director. Responsibilities include overseeing online registration applications and managing monthly production reporting across multiple programs. This role will provide procedural guidance for production management across various system technologies-such as solar, wind, hydropower, renewable thermal, energy storage, and demand response-while managing IT vendors and technical consultant relationships, including contracts and invoices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a customer service team of five and ensure high-quality support for stakeholders.
- Oversee the online registration processes for renewable energy systems.
- Ensure accurate data collection and updates within databases.
- Implement best practices for data quality assurance and customer service.
- Manage the annual technical audit process for renewable energy systems.
- Coordinate with the Department of Energy Resources, IT, technical consultants, and other stakeholders to resolve user and database issues.
- Consult with users to aid in refining the software and system specifications.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive business process documentation for internal and external use.
- Support quarterly energy production reporting to NEPOOL GIS for various clean energy incentive programs.
- Act as a liaison between the customer service and database analyst teams to prioritize issues and next steps.
- Collaborate with relevant agencies to fulfill public records requests and other information inquiries.
- Oversee consultant relationships, contracts, budgets, invoices, and internal approvals.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Position Qualifications:
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience
- MBA or another relevant advanced Degree preferred;
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in a business environment, with progressively increasing staff management responsibilities.
- Proven project or program management experience, including effective team communication and prioritization.
- Proficient in Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

Preferred:
- Familiarity with Massachusetts' clean energy regulatory framework, especially related to the Renewable Portfolio Standard and Alternative Portfolio Standard requirements.
- Basic understanding of the NEPOOL Generation Information System for tracking renewable energy certificates.
- Experience in software project business workflows, from conception to execution for application software development projects.
- Proven success in monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancing complex customer-facing data acquisition platforms.
- Experience collaborating with and supporting IT vendors.
- Familiarity with Zendesk customer service software.
