Description : The Surety Analysts primary point of contact for Clients and the Surety companies, and independently analyzes all client bond requests, issues bonds on behalf of the Surety companies, resolves contractual and bond issues, and monitors and maintains each Client's on-going bonding capacity. Underwrites all bond requests by independently analyzing contract documentation from clients; gathers additional data as needed, corresponds directly with clients and Sureties throughout underwriting process. Recommends and implements changes or corrections to contract language as needed in order to qualify and issue bond(s). Uses discretion to determine appropriate bond types and limits for projects. Within binding authority, prepares bond premium quotations and independently issues all required bond forms, including Pre-qualification letters, broker letters, bid bonds, retention bonds, P&P bonds, site bonds, L&P/misc bonds; Consents, new and modified riders. Negotiates with the Surety companies for bond terms and conditions when bond requests exceed TSIB's binding authority. Provides technical guidance to clients on bonding capacity, bonding requirements, and bonding needs as respects the client's business activities and/or proposed projects; serves as Subject Matter Expert to clients on evolving bond regulations and legal requirements. Works in multiple RMIS systems, including SurePath; Sagitta, Image Right, and client proprietary systems. Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or similar program, or a minimum of five years surety experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Broker's license required. AFSB desired. Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and RMIS systems. Demonstrated ability to read, understand and interpret complex contract and insurance documents and forms, and make appropriate recommendations. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels, both internal and external. Creative problem-solving skills and ability to leverage systems to improve workflow in response to regulatory changes. Ability to travel.
