Position Overview

The People & Culture Manager with Sharon Heights is responsible for ensuring operational excellence of HR processes, championing culture, and supporting the alignment of the employee experience with organizational goals.

Essential Functions

HR Operations

  • Contribute to the development of new and enhancement of existing HR policies, processes, programs, and initiatives. Document and support execution of HR best-practices.
  • Support organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including California labor laws.
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and compliant employee records.

Payroll & Benefits

  • Coordinate with finance and department leaders to execute accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing.
  • Facilitate benefit enrollment changes, communicate benefit options effectively to employees, resolve payroll and benefit inquiries.

Employee Life Cycle

  • Collaborate to execute effective recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for present and prospective team members.
  • Conduct 90-day reviews, exit interviews, and other employee lifecycle assessments.
  • Support the implementation of retention and development initiatives.
  • Coordinate effective and compliant separation from employment efforts.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Serve as a visible and approachable HR presence, developing strong relationships across all departments.
  • Champion a positive workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist in embedding company values, mission, and leadership behaviors into daily operations.

Performance Management

  • Partner with the Director to navigate employee relations, providing resources and support to teams for conflict resolution, policy compliance, etc.
  • Assist in administering performance management processes including goal setting, performance evaluations, accountability, and progressive discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline preferred (Human Resources, Business Administration, Sociology, Psychology, etc.)
  • 3-5 years of directly relevant experience required, preferably in service-oriented culture (ex: hotels, associations, clubs, restaurants, retail, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of Human Resources functions and applicable regulations.
  • Experience operating HRIS systems, processing payroll, and administering employee benefits.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
