The VP, Supermarket & Processor Sales will direct and lead the Sales team in the achievement of key organizational objectives. The position will lead the development of the sales strategy and direct the efforts of the team in achieving the revenue and net margin goals for these segments of the business.

The VP, Supermarket & Processor Sales will direct and lead the Sales team in the achievement of key organizational objectives. The position will lead the development of the sales strategy and direct the efforts of the team in achieving the revenue and net margin goals for these segments of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Sales Growth: Drive the achievement of annual sales & profit targets
- Create and implement the overall sales blueprint for the supermarket & processor segment in the assigned region
- Lead the development of segment and account specific business plans to identify, acquire, penetrate and retain customers
- Direct the execution of segment and account sales strategies to achieve profitable growth via direct sales, distributors, and corporate accounts for both the short and long term
- Identify business opportunities with key accounts based on customer knowledge, innovative marketing & sales strategies and industry trends
- Plan, negotiate and close contracts to achieve customer needs and Sabert's profit margin expectations
- Continually monitor competitive activity in the marketplace and adapt sales strategies and activities as needed including: promotional activity, new product introductions, product pricing and positioning
- Team Leadership: Develop and execute a vision for the team that delivers the desired top line and bottom line results
- Define the resource requirements for meeting the business objectives and acquire the necessary talent
- Provide leadership in the overall performance management of the sales team, including: setting clear expectations and objectives, providing coaching and measuring results
- Establish an environment which motivates and engages talent to achieve desired results
- Create an environment which supports the ongoing training and development of all staff
- Foster a positive work environment through open and ongoing communications and an atmosphere of teamwork, both within the supermarket & processor team and with others both inside and outside of the company
- Customer Partnerships: Build customer relationships and mutually beneficial business opportunities
- Generate joint business plans and growth ideas that benefit customers & Sabert
- Penetrate and develop meaningful customer relationships at many levels including those in upper management
- Effectively communicate customers' strategy; be the voice of the supermarket & processor customer to internal functions within Sabert
- Ensure Sabert's initiatives and processes align with customer strategies and requirements
- Best Practices and Sales Administration: Implement processes and tools to ensure optimum levels of productivity and efficiency
- Implement and continuously improve tools and sales processes which reduce administrative activities, improve sales closure rates and streamline other sales-related activities
- Collaborate with Customer Service to assure 100% customer satisfaction with ordering, billing and delivery

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field; MBA a plus
- 15 years of progressively responsible sales experience with at least 5 years of sales management responsibility
- Experience in B2B sales; background in supermarket & processor sales strongly preferred
- Track record of successful sales growth in areas of responsibility
