What You'll Do

As a Sr. HSE Manager, you'll assist with the development of standards and engaging with the business to provide scalable and effective health and safety strategies that support current and future business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable country, state, and local laws.

Here's a snapshot of your responsibilities:
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, zero-incident mindset, individual ownership, organizational pride, and innovative problem-solving.
  • Maintain close alignment, communication, and collaboration between the HSE department and operational leadership teams with a strong focus on executing strategies that serve the unique business needs, operational profiles, and risk tolerances for each of the respective business units.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies (i.e., OSHA, EPA, DEQ, DOT, etc.). Monitor and anticipate changes or developments in applicable regulations and pro-actively plan for and address within the business units with minimal disruption to their respective operations.
  • Review and deliver improvements to current HSE policies and procedures including but not limited to HSE management programs, employee training programs, safety and environmental incident response, and emergency/disaster response.
  • Communicate HSE performance and emerging trends inside and outside of the operating area to the leadership team and assist with development of mitigation strategies to reduce and prevent recurrence of incidents.
  • Communicate all significant/catastrophic HSE incidents (i.e., major injury, fatality, spill, incident involving public, etc.) to management in real-time. Coordinate and manage external crisis communications efforts in close conjunction with the executive team.
  • Ensure the alignment of the HSE organization with cross-functional activities/priorities across the Segment and in alignment with Corporate HSE Governance.
  • Strategic Partner: support and deploy the Operations strategy across the operations including transformational activities as it pertains to the EHS function.
  • Influence and coach business leaders on development of robust action plans to improve safety performance and to implement strategy moving forward.
  • Deliver results on an established and standardized metrics/dashboard to measure the HSE performance of the sites including a robust assessment / audit process to demonstrate compliance with all laws and regulations as well as the HSE Management System.
  • Oversee Risk & Case Management organization in support of Operations.


What You Bring to the Table
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferred) in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health Technology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Professional safety certifications preferred.
  • 7+ years' experience in HSE related position
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in Construction industry preferred.
  • Experience in General industry (i.e., warehousing, manufacturing, etc.) a plus.
