Job Duties

The Associate Director of Clinical Training (ADCT) serves alongside the Director of Clinical Training in the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology (VCPCP), a joint clinical psychology Ph.D. program sponsored by NSU and ODU. The ADCT is primarily responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Program's clinical training activities and serving as graduate program coordinator representative for NSU. The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a license to practice clinical psychology in the state of Virginia, teach courses primarily at the graduate level, engage in scholarly research and student mentorship, and provide administrative support related to the continued growth of the VCPCP (i.e., admissions, accreditation, and other committee assignments). The successful candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills, personal integrity, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinating and overseeing the VCPCP's clinical training activities
Conduct high-impact research in clinical psychology and contribute to the department's research and grantsmanship profile.
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
Supervise and mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in clinical psychology.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of the clinical psychology curriculum.
Provide clinical supervision and maintain an active clinical practice, if applicable.
Engage in service to the department, institution, and the broader community.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
A demonstrated record of research excellence.
Proven teaching experience at the graduate level.
Licensure as a clinical psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia or ability to obtain licensure.

Additional Considerations

Preferred
Strong pedagogical teaching skills.
Research publications in high-impact journals.
Record of obtaining external grant support is preferred.
Experience in clinical supervision and/or clinical practice is highly desirable.
Experience in program coordination/or administration
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic community.
