Role
The VP of Human Resources is responsible for leading HR strategy, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and industry regulations. They will oversee talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, compensation, and benefits. Additionally, they serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team, driving workforce planning, leadership development, and organizational growth. Their role is essential in maintaining a strong, member-focused workforce while aligning HR policies with the Credit Union's mission and business objectives.

Experience 8 - 10 years of similar or related experience
Education (1) a master's degree preferred or (2) a bachelor's degree plus professional certification
Skills Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Deep understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment law
Must be well organized and detail oriented
Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Ability to travel extensively

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Talent Management
- Develop and execute HR strategies that support the credit union's long-term business goals.
- Lead workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
- Oversee succession planning and leadership development programs to ensure a strong talent pipeline.
- Champion a high-performance culture by driving initiatives that enhance engagement, productivity, and retention.
Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards
- Design and oversee competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
- Evaluate and optimize the credit union's total rewards strategy to attract and retain top talent while maintaining financial sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to compensation, benefits, and payroll.
Employee Engagement & Organizational Culture
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation to enhance employee experience and drive business performance.
- Lead organizational change initiatives, ensuring employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with the credit union's mission.
- Oversee employee relations, ensuring HR policies and practices support a positive and productive work environment.
- Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement, continuous learning, collaboration, and commitment to the Credit Union's values
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Serve as a key advisor on HR-related legal matters, mitigating risk and ensuring organizational compliance.
- Oversee workplace safety, employee relations, and ethical practices to maintain a strong compliance culture.
Executive Leadership & Business Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, providing data-driven insights on workforce trends and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead HR's role in business strategy, ensuring alignment between people initiatives and company objectives.
- Represent the credit union externally at industry conferences, community events, and HR leadership forums.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned in accordance with Credit Union standards.
