Description:
- Provide pre-school Age 3 through Grade 12 leadership in monitoring, designing, and implementing curriculum.
- Assist in the formulation of a philosophy and objectives for the design, implementation, and assessment of the K-12 curriculum.
- Guide development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional services.
- Develop and maintain curriculum guides with learning outcomes for current and prospective families
- Recommend, implement, and coordinate an organizational structure which insures a horizontally and vertically coordinated curriculum through the involvement of teachers, administration, Board, and community members
- Oversee all accreditation activities with both ACSI and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools which includes annual reporting and re-accreditation visits.
- Identify a curriculum committee and meet regularly with the curriculum committee.
- Build and maintain active participation with educational leaders in curriculum and instruction through Christian Schools, Private Schools, Public Schools and Colleges/ Universities.
- Collaborate with Principals and Faculty in analyzing standardized testing data and determining implications for curriculum and instructional practices.
- Along with Principals, execute the school wide induction program for new teachers including the mentoring program
- Maintains a reference file of instructional methods and curriculum library to be used by staff members for encouragement of professional sharing.
- Design and monitor a curriculum writing and textbook review cycle.
- Integrate educational technology into the K-12 curricular programs.
- Integrate the Artificial Intelligence best use practice into the school.
- Coordinate all learning support programs at the school including the Discovery Program.
- Assist in the recruitment, screening, hiring, training, and assigning of instructional personnel.
- Establish and maintain professional dialogue with instructional staff and observe teachers formally in their classrooms upon request of the Principals.
- Continue to build connections with Alumni for references for potential internships and co-ops.
- Work closely with Operations Officer to develop budgets for various curriculums and programs
- Work with Upper School Principal and Administration to establish plans for course growth, college in high school classes, and diplomas of distinction. Execute these plans on a multi-year timeline.
- Coordinate and schedule professional development training for staff on scheduled days through out the year
- Provide communication to the Head of School and the full School Board of Directors as requested.
Requirements
- Have a mature relationship with Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior and be active in an evangelical church.
- Be a Christ-like model for students in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40)
- Be supportive of the school's mission and doctrinal statements.
- Provide acceptable PA DOE employment clearances dated within one year: FBI Fingerprint/ Act 114 Federal Criminal Background Check (Identogo Service Code 1KG6TR), Act 151 State Child Abuse Background Report, and Act 34 PA State Police Background Clearance.
- Master's Degree in Education and or significant experience in the administration and education with understanding of the nature and needs of students in the both upper and elementary years.
- Basic personal computer skills (Gmail, Word, Excel).
- Understanding of the philosophy of Christian education.
- An ability to work with others and generate leadership for the faculty and students.
- Competence in the supervision of teaching-learning process.
Physical Requirements to Fulfill the Essential Functions of this Job
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Move about classrooms and hallways and supervise students.
- Physically accompany students in the hallways or in other places in the buildings as the students move from one location to another location on the premises.
- Have sufficient vision to allow for active supervision and interaction with students.
- Have the ability to quickly summon help when an emergency arises either in the classroom, gymnasium or on the playground.
- Climb the stairs to reach the classrooms/offices on higher floors at all campuses.
