Looking for Small Cell Node Construction Experience - Node Construction Manager

Network Construction Manager - San Diego Area primarily / possibly LA areas as needed
Responsible for all aspects of construction for Crown Castle Small Cell node projects; including the identification of equipment BOM's and materials, support with Vendor / GC selection, on-site management, coordination of contractors, OEM installers and customer representatives. Represent Crown Castle as the expert on issues relating to construction/modification of small cell nodes mounted on / to vertical assets (streetlights, utility poles, strand in the communication space) primarily in the public right-of-way. Responsible to oversee the safe and successful completion of multiple types of Small Cell upgrades, modifications, along with the associated outside plant construction required to support AC/DC power as well as work necessary to establish fiber delivery to the site. Ensure all assigned projects are completed according to mutually agreed upon timelines and budgets. Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with Crown Castle safety policies and procedures in support of Crown Castle objectives.

Essential Job Functions
Actively participate in and make recommendations in support of the Vendor / GC selection process
Identify, track, and support the procurement and release of materials required to complete the work
Attend deployment and other customer meetings as a subject matter expert for Crown, maintain documentation and support team leads as needed
Make regular and consistent visits to sites during construction, including bids walks, pre-construction walks, in progress site visits, punch walks and construction closeout visits
Schedule preconstruction meetings and inspections with applicable jurisdictional and Utility inspectors
Responsible to maintain costs within the scope of the project budget(s), hold Vendors accountable to ensure budgets are maintained; ensure Supervisor / Managers are aware of issues that will impact project completion or cost - identify and mitigate risks
Responsible to problem solve issues that may occur onsite and make recommendations based on priority and need to ensure the project and budget are maintained
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Crown Castle construction standards, processes, and procedures
Ensure accurate and complete files are maintained for projects and appropriate closeout documents are distributed in a timely manner and are in accordance with corporate and customer standards
Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a project tracking system with complete accuracy
Act as Crown Castle safety observer and Quality Assurance representative while at the site ensuring compliance with Crown Castle safety program and related workmanship practices

Education/Certifications
High School degree
A valid CA driver's license is required
OSHA 10 Certification (If not current, will need to take Crown Castle Training within first 2 weeks)

Experience/Minimum Requirements
Minimum five (5) years of telecommunications/wireless construction experience - preferably small cells, in the ROW
Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground) for Small Cells and Fiber in the Right of Way
Familiarity with test equipment and techniques for performing RF Sweep and PIM tests, Fiber Optic OTDR/OPL testing
Working knowledge of GO95, NESC, NEC and OSHA standards
Experience with providing leadership and direction to construction / installation crews
Experience managing multiple projects that are at any time in various stages of construction and integration
Knowledge of fiber / copper OSP standards is desirable
Experience with copper splicing and power over copper is a plus

Other Skills/Abilities
Must be able to read, understand construction drawings and installation MOP's
Strong computer skills - MS office including Excel - pivots, x/v lookups
Capable PM skills with experience leading projects and performing in a PM role is desired
Knowledge of budget development, execution, and tracking
Knowledge of construction management process
Knowledge of site acquisition procedures, including regulatory and permitting process
Ability to direct and diagnose workflow problems, critical paths, and institute remedies
Customer service orientation with a strong problem-solving approach - strong interpersonal skills

Working Conditions: Primarily field based 90% of the time, 10% Home office but will also be required to travel to and attend mandatory Safety and other meetings as needed
