Job Overview

The Senior Director of Facilities is responsible for overseeing the strategic management of all facility operations, maintenance, and improvements across multiple locations. This role involves leadership in budgeting, vendor management, compliance, sustainability, and ensuring the efficient and safe functioning of all facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Oversight: Lead the overall facilities strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of facilities professionals, ensuring high performance and development.
  • Budgeting & Cost Management: Develop and manage the facilities budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure service quality and compliance.
  • Maintenance & Operations: Ensure all building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are maintained, and proactively manage repairs and upgrades.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and building codes across all facilities.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Drive energy efficiency and sustainability programs to minimize operational costs and environmental impact.
  • Project Management: Oversee facility-related projects, including relocations, renovations, and capital improvements.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience: 10+ years in facilities management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Certifications: CFM or similar certifications preferred; LEED and OSHA certifications a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proven leadership and team management
    • Strong budgeting and cost-control expertise
    • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving
    • Extensive knowledge of facilities systems and operations
    • Effective communication and negotiation skills

Additional Information
  • Work Environment: Primarily office-based with regular site visits to multiple facilities.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel for site inspections and vendor management.
