Job Summary:

The Staff Physician shall be licensed in the State of Mississippi and possess the appropriate board certification in their field and scope of practice. They will fulfill their role and practice medicine primarily in the clinic. Staff Physicians will maintain medical staff privileges at applicable hospitals. Acquires, compiles, maintains, and applies knowledge of established Forrest Health and Clinic policies, established standards, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control. Interprets these to patients, staff, and the public as appropriate. Appropriately communicates and interacts with employees and family members of all ages while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Will be required to achieve quality patient care and job performance, measured through reporting, direct and indirect observation, evaluation, feedback, and skills check-offs. Performs any other duties not listed or otherwise delineated as assigned by the Director of Outpatient Clinics and/or their designee.

Performance Expectations:
Functions within the established scope of practice for patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, plan of care, and consultation.
Performs histories and physicals, review of systems, assessments, care plans, initiates orders when medically necessary, and documents appropriately in the electronic medical record.
Utilizes the growth and development of knowledge base in caring for children (pediatric), adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients to provide patient care and document all appropriate documentation into the electronic medical record.
Maintains all required licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
Cost-effectively utilizes supplies and equipment.
Maintains a clean, orderly, safe environment for patients and personnel.
Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information and abides by established communications codes.
Appropriately communicate and interact with patients, families, and visitors of all ages while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
Monitors Epic Dashboards, In-baskets, and messaging applications in addition to company email for important communications and takes action when applicable.
Utilizes various reports and dashboards to complete clinical and operational tasks.
Efficiently use point-of-care tests according to manufacturer instructions and document results accurately and timely.
Makes accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records and closes charts within prescribed organization standards.
Performs all functions efficiently and effectively and within required and assigned timeframes.
Monitors productivity and makes adjustments as necessary in collaboration with clinic leadership.
If applicable, will collaborate with the clinic's nurse practitioners and promote a high-level quality of care through a physician-led care team.
Interacts effectively and builds respectful relationships with physicians, healthcare professionals, and health-related agencies.
Communicates and cooperates with all clinic and health system personnel respectfully and under Employee Handbook standards to achieve objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental relations, and public relations.
Behavior both at work and away from the facility positively reflects on the profession and the facility and organization. Behavior must coincide with the facility's Code of Conduct, the State Board of Licensure, and all applicable boards.
If applicable, we must acquire and follow RHC standards and policies.
Complies with all RHC, VFC, EPSDT, and accountable care organization's compliance-related policies, statutes, regulations, and payer terms and conditions of participation.
Adheres to and promotes the organization's established values (We CARE, ACO, Language of Caring, safety, Code of Conduct, HIPAA, compliance standards, and all others).

Qualifications:

Education/Skills

Graduate from an approved medical school and complete an appropriate and recognized residency program.

Work Experience:

Experience in some primary patient contact is desirable.

Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Mississippi.
Proof of Malpractice Insurance.

Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on the required timeframe below
Basic Life Support Within 30 Days of Employment. Required

Mental Demands:

A high degree of concentration and good interpersonal skills are required. The individual must exercise great tact, poise, and patience in dealing with the public. The individual must have a high energy level and be capable of handling high-pressure situations both mentally and physically. The individual must be agreeable to organizational and regulatory change.
