Responsible for filling and dispensing prescribed drugs in a healthcare facility environment. This position is also responsible for transferring prescriptions, handling incoming physician calls, logging data into the computer, and Drug Utilization Review.
Responsibilities
Daily Job Duties:
- Formulates, recommends, implements, and monitors the provision of pharmacy services and resource utilization for all pharmacy
- Compounds and dispenses prescribed
- Maintains inventory at respective pharmaceutical
- Provides high quality patient care, information, assistance and counseling or referrals to appropriate
- Verifies all prescriptions are safely and accurately dispensed at the
- Prepare and maintain required
- Answers drug information questions and performs consultation services for patients and Lone Star Circle of Care
- Extracts pertinent information from patients, or other sources and apply them to the patient's medical management
- Supervises site support staff at pharmacy
- All other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy
Compliance:
- Conduct patient regimen review
- Follows all required rules, laws, and regulations required of a pharmacy in the state of
- Inspects pharmaceutical areas, sometimes external of physical pharmacy, to verify compliance with all laws, rules, and
- Performs projects assigned by the Director of
- Attends and participates in Pharmacy and Therapeutic (P&T) Committee and Quality meetings, if requested by the Director of Pharmacy
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:
- Current State of Texas Registered Pharmacist license (TSBP)
- Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
