Role Summary & PurposeReportingtothe Vice President of Power Products, youwillbe responsible for defining and driving the development of Menlo Micros next-generation power relay products using ourIdealSwitch technology. Youwillbe responsible for all power marketing activities including product and strategic planning, assistingwithproduct definition, product positioning, go-to-market strategy, competitive analysis, marketing communications, public relations, and tactical marketing.
Youwillalso spendtimeonthe front lineswithcustomers collecting feedback and architecting solutions to meet their requirements. Yourworkwillbe impactful within Menlo Micro, andtoour investors.
Essential ResponsibilitiesYouwillworkin a fast-paced, innovative team environment, interactingwithall functions including product development, sales, operations and marketing communications.
Youwill:
- Workwithkey partners, customers, and end users to drive adoption of our power relay solutions
- Workwithend users, customers, technology partners, and standards organizations to define next generation product requirements and put in place partnerships to ensure their adoption
- Create detailed market and business product plans including Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs), Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), Competition and Return-on-Investment (ROI) analysis for product releases
- Drive and manage product lifecycles from inceptiontocommercialization (feature roadmaps, product roadmaps, pricing)
- Develop, implement, and manage plans for product launches including documentation, sales collateral, and presentations
- WorkwithEngineering, Sales, Operations and customers to ensure that new productsleadthe market and provide clear system-level differentiation.
- Drive the development and distribution of supporting product documents (briefs, application guides, data sheets, bulletins) as well aswebsitecontent and thought leadership through tradeshows and publications
- Position products in new and existing market segments; driving efforts for design-winswithour sales department
- Assist salestodevelop a pipeline for future sales activity
- Be responsible for annual sales targets, market growth, and margin.
- Build and maintain strong business relationshipswithcustomers to drive/increase sales and ensure an exceptional customer experience by solving customer challenges
- Develop and implement communication plans for customers, sales and investors in order to create value and address competitive positions
- Research and analyze market opportunities, trends, and competitive pressurestocreate, develop, and execute appropriate product management strategies and roadmap
- Attract, manage, retain, and develop talent as the business grows
- Travelas necessary
This role requires a strong mix of technical and business skills as youworkwithsales and customers to define and deploy disruptive products to the market.
Tobe a good fit for the position, youwillhave:
- A strong system and component-level understanding of power systems or industrial controlsatratings upto1kV and 100A, for both AC and DC solutions
- Experiencewithcustomers and applications of power relays and power protection devices
- Experienceworkingwithcustomers in one or more of the following markets: industrial controls and automation,homeautomation, renewable energy, electrical transmission and distribution, and transportation
- The abilitytounderstand customer needs and translate those into productswithappropriate tradeoffs
- Excellent abilitytolisten and sell product concepts and technologies internally and externallywitha passion for technology
- Successfully have led product management and product planning strategies and initiatives, developed product roadmaps, and taken products from inceptiontocommercialization.
- Past success influencing opinions and actions of key stakeholders within their organization, customers, and partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including market research and data gathering, abilitytothink / conceptualize independently and creatively, strength in building and analyzing complex financial models, and excellent business judgment and abilitytosynthesize, analyze and extract implications
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, including experience creating and makinghighlyeffective presentationstosenior management
- Strong organizational,projectmanagement, and execution skills and a demonstrated abilitytoprioritize in a fast-paced environment andworkeffectivelyatall levels of the organization
- Experience in a global environment interfacingwithmany cultures and languages
- High-performance orientation, commitmenttocontinuous improvement, and strategic capability and willingnesstoroll up your sleeves
- BSin Electrical Engineering or related + 10yearsof experience, orMS+ 8yearsof experience; MBApreferred
- ExperiencewithAC and DC power systems upto1000V and 100A.
- Aworkingunderstanding of MEMS
- Familiaritywithsolid-state circuit breakers.
