OPPORTUNITY:
HEABC has an opportunity for a 12-month contract for a Disability Management (DM) Services Advisor. Reporting to the Director, DM and Implementation, the Advisor will coordinate with partners including employers, unions, service providers, insurers and other groups on the implementation, operation and improvement of DM programs and services for HEABC's members related to the Enhanced Disability Management Program (EDMP). This role will provide expertise, advice and education related to disability management programs and services within the unionized health sector environment ranging from health authorities to affiliate health care providers.
Responsibilities Include:
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with multiple health care organizations while addressing complex issues. Provides advice on difficult disability case management and return to work scenarios, consistently taking into account operational requirements, applicable policies and procedures and best practices, legislated and regulatory requirements, and current and long-range implications at both the organization and sector level. Provides coordination, implementation, facilitation, and advisory services in relation to DM related programs and services. Collaboratively coordinates with union disability management representatives in support of HEABC members and goals and principles of the DM programs and services. May participate in or represent HEABC or its members on various working groups and committees and in dispute resolution processes.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor's degree in disability management or a related health or human resources discipline and a minimum of 5 years' experience administering disability management programs or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
This position is well-suited to an individual interested in pursuing a career in an interesting segment of the public sector, and who values the opportunity to make a positive public contribution through their work.
Salary Range: $88,990 to $127,923
Typical Hiring Range: $88,990 to $111,237
In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate's skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The final salary offer will be at HEABC's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

- Excellent relationship management, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, exhibiting a high degree of customer service aptitude.
- Experience leading coordination or management of projects.
- Strong knowledge of disability management related legislation and best practices
- Familiarity with the functioning of organizations and health related human resources within the health sector would be an asset.
- Experience working in a unionized environment would be an asset.
- Designation as a Certified Disability Management Professional or similar certification would be an asset (or willingness to work towards).
- Ability to effectively negotiate and manage and resolve conflict.
