Description: The Medical Radiation Technologist I (MRT) performs all routine radiographic/fluoroscopic, computed tomography and interventional procedures. The MRT I also produces radiographs of high diagnostic quality in an efficient and safe manner while attending to the diagnostic and care needs of patients undergoing diagnostic/therapeutic procedures. The MRT I is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Radiological Technology program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) required. BLS (Level C - Health Care Provider) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Must be capable of performing all routine imaging procedures and able to adapt to new techniques. Self-motivated with strong organization skills. Must possess high degree of confidentiality. High level of communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work under pressure in emergency situations. Able to assess patient capabilities and limitations and make adjustments in procedures when necessary. Required to assist Radiologists and Senior Technologists in complicated and lengthy procedures. Exercise good judgement in the selection and application of technical factors experience with Connect Care and Enterprise imaging
