YOUR MISSION (The Job Description):

The Network & Security Manager will play an important role in managing all IT-related security, safety issues, and the day-to-day functionality of all network-related hardware and software.

The Network & Security Manager will be responsible for working with the management team and property staff to discuss system requirements, proposed changes, priorities, schedules, and service standards; work with the Executive Director IT to achieve strategic, long-range goals; consult on equipment performance, output quality, and maintenance schedule. The Network & Security Manager is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the installation and maintenance of the entire property network including but not limited to servers, switches, routers, and firewalls.

THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties):

This role will work closely with Executive Director IT to:
  • Oversee and assist with the installation and maintenance of all network operating systems including but not limited to Windows, Exchange and SQL, and backups
  • Oversee and assist with the installation and maintenance of all systems and practices required to maintain a secure network including but not limited to an IPS, SIEM, general network event monitoring, penetration testing, security scans, etc.
  • Work with the IT team and property staff to discuss system requirements, proposed changes, priorities, schedules, and service standards
  • Work with Director to achieve a strategic, long-range goal
  • Consult with the Executive Director on equipment performance, output quality, and maintenance schedule
  • Assist with training of IT staff on best practices and new technologies to allow for first-rate technical support
  • Evaluate workload and capacity of computer systems to determine the feasibility of expanding or enhancing computer operations; recommend improvements in computer systems
  • Assist the Director in the layout and installation of new systems or modification of existing systems
  • Work with the Executive Director to create, maintain, and test an effective disaster recovery plan for the property; conduct periodic testing of the disaster recovery plan, including routine restoration of system backups
  • Create and maintain an enterprise security stance through policy, architecture, and training processes while ensuring adherence to regulations and standards set by organizations such as the Gaming Control Board, the PCI Security Council, and both federal and state privacy laws
  • Create and oversee plans to remediate any vulnerabilities discovered
  • Evaluate workload and capacity of computer systems to determine the feasibility of expanding or enhancing computer operations; recommend improvements in computer systems
  • Assist in the layout and installation of new systems or modification of existing systems
  • Work to create, maintain, and test an effective disaster recovery plan for the property; conducts periodic testing of the disaster recovery plan, including routine restoration of system backups. Responsible for ensuring proper pickup and delivery of off-site tape backups
  • Responsible for configuring system access for all users and all systems

MUST HAVE'S
  • Communicate effectively at all times with all levels of employees as well as all external contacts
  • Experience using a computer to effectively access, understand, and input customer information
  • Assimilate information and communicate with users, management staff, and outside sources of information
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, including Active Directory and Group Policies

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S
  • Bachelor's degree in cyber security or computer science, or equivalent training; preferably MCSE certified
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, including Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data center procedures required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite of personal and enterprise products
  • Familiarity with the AS400
  • Familiarity with switches, routers, and firewalls preferably Cisco focused

THE WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of noise and vibration. People in this position are at times subjected to hazards such as paper dust
  • Work physical in nature and requires physical mobility including but not limited to balancing, bending, carrying, climbing, crawling and reaching. These actions are required in order to install and replace terminals and printers
  • Perform work on-property during and outside of regularly scheduled shifts as business and departmental situations dictate
  • Be available by telephone and pager during off-hours
  • Operate a computer keyboard
  • This is not a remote position
