Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of automated material handling systems for new and existing factories and programs at Gigafactory Texas (GFTX), specifically within Tesla's Cell Manufacturing operations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you will be part of a highly skilled, agile team tackling some of the most ambitious projects in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated material handling solutions to optimize material flow across Tesla's manufacturing lines, covering raw material transport, move product in between shops, and final product delivery within Cell Manufacturing
- Lead the development of innovative material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems that improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability
- Develop analytical models and simulations to establish design criteria and system performance benchmarks
- Investigate and apply advanced technologies in our material handling equipment including, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), buffer systems, conveyance, mobile robotics (AGVs/AMRs), robotic material handling, and lift systems to enhance material handling capabilities
- Own end-to-end project execution, including concept development, detailed engineering design, equipment procurement, integration, installation, and commissioning
- Drive continuous improvement in existing material handling solutions by analyzing performance data and implementing system enhancements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering, factory layout, construction, process engineering, and production teams to align material flow solutions with Tesla's broader operational goals
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships, ensuring seamless execution and on-time delivery
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and stakeholders within Tesla, ensuring a culture of innovation and operational excellence

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field)
- 5+ years of practical automated material handling and process equipment design experience in industries such as automotive, consumer goods/food and beverage manufacturing, distribution, and semiconductor
- Expertise in material handling technologies, including ASRS, conveyors, AGVs/AMRs, robotic handling systems, and automated lifts
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools for system modeling and layout design
- Strong engineering background with hands-on experience in system design, development, and implementation
- Passion for automation and advanced manufacturing with a deep understanding of how to integrate automation into material flow strategies
- Proven project leadership experience, from concept to execution, including stakeholder coordination, risk management, and performance optimization
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a highly dynamic environment with evolving priorities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
