Role: Director of Community Engagement and Academy Giving for Great Hearts Western Hills
Full-time position with benefits
Manages Community Investment fundraising for the Great Hearts Western Hills community
Reports to Great Hearts Texas Senior Director of Strategic Relationships
Occasional travel within North Texas required

Purpose: The Director of Community Engagement and Academy Giving is responsible for building and maintaining relationships throughout the campus to drive financial support for the school through Community Investment campaigns. As a public charter school network, Great Hearts Texas receives most of its funding from state and federal governments. Community Investment funds provide additional funding to enable our academies to deliver an exceptional education. The Director of Community Engagement and Academy Giving is a key team member charged with telling this story and driving annual financial support from families to support schools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implementation of both predetermined development strategies and applying creative experiences to new strategies
Cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts from academy families and faculty
Successful completion of annual Community Investment campaigns, reaching and exceeding fundraising and donor stewardship goals
Support of academy-based Capital Campaigns, as needed
Central liaison to the Headmaster for all campus fundraising activities
Promote Community Investment in visible ways at a variety of campus events to drive Community Investment donations
Produce academy-level communications (email newsletters and social media)
Data entry for all donations
Work in partnership with the Parent Service Organization (PSO) volunteers to build awareness of Community Investment donations and the role that Community Investment has in supporting the operational needs of Great Hearts Western Hills
Maintain current information on fund development practices and procedures and develop processes and procedures as needed
Serve as a key public representative for the organization; including cultivating relationships with faculty, parents, community members, prospective donors, and volunteers to effectively communicate the mission and build a strong reputation for Great Hearts Western Hills
Required to attend biweekly meetings to contribute to Great Hearts Texas' district-level goals, build collaboration with other Great Hearts Texas Directors of Community Engagement and Academy Giving, and participate in reviews of academy-level fundraising metrics
Education, Experience, and Skills: Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. A minimum of 2 - 3 years of success in a related role (fundraising, sales, or marketing) required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving and presentation skills
Outgoing, relationship-oriented personality with the highest degree of personal integrity
Proven in taking initiative, prioritizing projects and workflow, and working independently
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
Skilled at developing positive, trusting, and professional relationships with team members and Great Hearts Western Hills families
Provide excellent customer service and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Commitment to the mission of Great Hearts Texas and our excellent classical education
Pass mandatory background screening
Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
CFRE is an asset.
Computer Skills: Strong proficiency with computer skills including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Drive (Docs/Sheets/Slides), and donor databases. Experience with Raiser's Edge and Classy is beneficial. Experience utilizing email marketing tools and managing social media outlets is strongly preferred.
Travel Requirements: May need to travel locally to meet with academy families and attend school activities.
Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.
