Here's What You Need:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with five years professional Accounting experience with at least three years in payroll and two years of supervisory experience in a diverse, complex payroll environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You must demonstrate extensive knowledge of payroll best practices, have excellent analytical and decision-making skills and effective interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating at all levels in a complex organization. Effective time management and the ability to prioritize competing priorities is an essential skill. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

What You Do and How You Do It:
Responsible for the daily planning, coordinating and managing all County payroll functions. This includes:
- Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of the County's biweekly payroll.
- Overseeing the daily workflow of the payroll team and directing payroll procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with payroll laws and tax obligations.
- Maintaining accurate payroll records.
- Resolving payroll errors.
- Coordination with the Accounting and HR departments to process changes that affect the payroll processes, monitor payroll schedules and manage employee benefit deductions.
- Lead and direct a professional payroll team by providing guidance, training and support.
- Perform other work as required.
