Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Job Specialty: Radiation Therapy
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, first to float
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year
License: California license required for Radiation Therapists
Certifications: ARRT, BLS
Must-Have: Experienced radiation therapist preferred; experience on Varian linacs (Trilogy and Clinac 21ex)
Job Description:
- Provide radiation therapy to patients as per physician's prescriptions.
- Operate sophisticated radiation equipment, including Varian linacs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to design and implement patient treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate records of treatment administered using the Cerner charting system.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Attend mandatory orientation sessions for a total of 12 hours.
- Use provided radiation badge for safety monitoring, as the facility does not supply these.
- Be adaptable and willing to float as needed within the department.
- No on-call duty is required.
Note: The facility has a cancellation policy allowing up to 4 shifts to be canceled per 13-week assignment (with a potential payment for the canceled hours), ensuring commitment without overextensions.
