The Senior, Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing key accounts to drive sales revenue and achieve business objectives. You will lead a team of sales professionals, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop strategic partnerships with key clients to maximize business opportunities.

This position is responsible for directing and owning a selling relationship for growth at Family Dollar managing our apparel portfolio. This individual will be responsible for developing, executing and driving well thought-out sales, marketing, and merchandising strategies across a portfolio of brands within the category to drive profitable sales growth. This individual will be responsible for driving both top and bottom-line growth for the

category.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Strategic Plans: Create and execute medium to long-term strategic plans to grow key accounts, build strong relationships, and increase sales revenue. This includes preparing strategies to protect, grow, and diversify relationships with a defined group of existing customers.
  • Understand Client Objectives and Needs: Gain a deep understanding of key clients' business objectives, challenges, and needs. Propose tailored solutions to drive mutual success, identifying cross/up and repeat sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with marketing, product development, and other cross-functional teams to align strategies and ensure client satisfaction. Develop client retention and growth plans and strategies for developing profitable business with assigned accounts.
  • Identify and Develop Strategic Partnerships: Identify and develop strategic partnerships with key clients, including negotiation of contracts, terms, and pricing agreements. Ensure high-quality customer service and issue resolution to retain current clients.
  • Understand Market Trends and Competitive Landscape: Collaborate with clients to understand their business strategies, market trends, and competitive landscape. Review and report on customer retention, business opportunities, and market trends.
  • Analyze Sales Data and Forecasting: Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to forecast sales targets, monitor performance, and identify growth opportunities. Prepare strategies for developing profitable business with assigned accounts.
  • Develop and Implement Sales Strategies: Develop and implement sales strategies and initiatives to drive revenue growth and meet or exceed sales targets. This includes face-to-face selling of a variety of products, services, and/or solutions across multiple lines of business. Develop annual financial and sales plans in conjunction with the Director, Customer Development.
  • Lead and Manage Broker Sales Team: Lead a team of professional sales brokers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Ensure the team is aligned with the overall strategic goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Development and Management of the trade and budget: Development & management of the trade and budget plans to effectively deliver growth and profit. Includes oversight of markdown, advertising, and marketing budgets specific to business category. Own promotional and advertising calendar and accurately tracks to budget and sales lift by campaign.


  • Minimum Education/ Experience

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field with 10+ years relevant work experience. 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree

    Preferred Education/Experience

    Master's degree in Business, Marketing or related field with 8+ years relevant work experience.

    Specific Skills or Experience Required

    • Proven experience in sales, account management, business development, broker management, retailer buying and planning background.
    • Self- self-starter, a collaborator, a good communicator and have the curiosity to thrive in an ambiguous environment.


    Job Specific Competencies

    • Strong negotiation and influencing abilities, with a track record of successfully closing deals and growing key accounts.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to drive strategic decision-making.
    • Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
    • Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales tools to manage accounts and track sales activities.
    • Leadership: Experience in leading and managing a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities
    • Apparel experience at Walmart is preferred.
