General Description:
Oversee the development and direction of the interscholastic and intramural athletic programs of all schools within the Proviso Township High Schools District 209.
The Athletic Director supervises and evaluates the athletics administrative assistant, activities coordinator, coaches, trainers, and athletic support personnel. The Athletics Director establishes a clear vision of excellence and ensures a quality, comprehensive, and equitable program of cocurricular athletics through authentic student, parent, staff, and community engagement.
Minimum Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:Prepare and assist in the administration of athletic budget and coaching supplies; processing bills, game gratuities, travel and meal expenses, and legitimate reimbursements for athletic events to accounting office; schedule necessary travel and meal arrangements for athletic teams in the school district Initiate, develop and implement pre-high school athletic feeder programs Attend and participate in all required monthly West Suburban Conference (WSC) Athletic Director Meetings Actively participate in the creation and implementation of PTHS D209 policies and procedures that ensure healthy, safe, and supportive learning environments and athletic and activity opportunities for all Proviso students Formulate and administer an athletic inventory system Supervise and evaluate the coaching staff and athletic programs Provide timely hiring recommendations to H.R. for all athletic programs Provide oversight for the coordination of summer coaching camps (set dates & fees, coordinate facilities, prepare information for publications) Provide an annual report on the Athletic Department including student participation and involvement in Athletics programs Regularly utilize the appropriate system to enter and request in a timely manner, all required transportation for athletic events Provide oversight for intramural programming Provide weekly Student Eligibility Reports to coaches and implement with fidelity Administer the Proviso Code of Conduct and the Athletic Code of Conduct Ensure the supervision of home and away athletic contests Enforce compliance with health and safety codes and standards Oversee all protocols and procedures associated with injuries, returning to school, and returning to play (i.e. concussion protocols, etc.) Collaborate with Booster Club and Alumni Associations to support and strengthen athletic and activities opportunities East & West Athletic Directors, along with building Principals, will collaborate to plan, organize, and manage the D209 Holiday Basketball Tournament (held in December at West) Manage student eligibility processes (weekly checks, transfer students, etc.) and ensure compliance, of all staff and students, with all IHSA eligibility requirements Ensure NCAA compliance of all students and staff Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal, assistant superintendent, or superintendent for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school district.*

Position Goals:
Annually the employee, in consultation with the supervisor, shall develop the employee's goals for the forthcoming year, which shall be set forth in the annual evaluation document. In the event that the employee and supervisor fail to agree on the goals to be included in said document, the supervisor shall establish the goals.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution.
- Licensure:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Endorsement:
- General Administrative endorsement, preferred
- Must possess or be able to receive coaching certification in accordance with Illinois High School Association (IHSA) policy
- Valid CPR certificate
- Valid Advanced First Aid certificate
- Experience:
- Previous successful athletic administrator, preferred
- Previous successful school administrative experience, preferred
- Previous experience as a head coach or an assistant coach of a high school/ collegiate athletic program
- Experience managing a budget, generating and providing reports
- Collaborative leadership experience
- Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak publicly to groups and media
