Purpose

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for support, installation, configuration, operation, management and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure throughout the company. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures infrastructure and applications adhere to established Roseburg standards, policies, methodologies, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops procedures, programs and documentation for operation and backup/restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications.
  • Active and Hands-on-role in new system implementations.
  • Deploy system updates and patches to servers utilizing Windows Software Update Services (WSUS) and similar tools.
  • Monitor, maintain, and support approximately 500+ Windows 2019 and 2022 servers across multiple sites located within the U.S. and Canada
  • Monitor, maintain, and support:
  • Rubrik backups
  • Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Management
  • VMware 8 virtualized environment, including vSphere, ESXi, NSX, and VCDR
  • VMWare Horizon 8 VDI environment
  • Cisco UCS server platform
  • Pure and Nutanix storage infrastructure
  • Microsoft Exchange 2019 On-Premise and Microsoft Exchange Online
  • SCOM and related Systems monitoring tools
  • Develop and implement PowerShell scripts to automate process and workflows
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, diagnose, and resolve daily server and applications issues
  • Logs and works Incidents, Requests and Changes within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Infrequent lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs and assisted by additional personnel lifting of equipment up to 120 lbs

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems and 6+ years related experience or equivalent experience and certifications
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a highly functional team environment
  • Working knowledge of industry technological developments and best practices
  • Sound documentation skills

  • Occasional travel to other remote locations is required, less than 10%


Preferred Qualifications
  • ITIL certification or/and experience
